Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Unsaid ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Unsaid. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • One person may only maintain one account
  • Accounts are non-transferable

3. Anonymous Posting Rules

Unsaid enables anonymous posting to create a safe space for authentic expression. However, anonymity comes with responsibility:

  • Anonymous posts must still comply with all community guidelines
  • Anonymity does not protect illegal activity or harassment
  • We maintain internal records linking posts to accounts for safety and legal compliance
  • Abuse of anonymity to harm others will result in account action
  • Do not attempt to identify or "dox" other anonymous users

4. Trust Tier System

Unsaid uses a trust tier system to build community credibility:

4.1 Verification Requirements

  • Higher trust tiers require identity verification (video and/or ID verification)
  • Verification is voluntary but unlocks additional features
  • Verification data is handled according to our Privacy Policy
  • Fraudulent verification attempts will result in permanent ban

4.2 Trust Tier Benefits

  • Verified users receive trust badges visible on their posts
  • Higher tiers may access exclusive features and communities
  • Trust tiers can be revoked for violations of these terms

5. Content Guidelines

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
  • Promotes violence, discrimination, or hate speech
  • Contains sexually explicit material or exploits minors
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains malware, spam, or phishing attempts
  • Impersonates others or misrepresents your identity
  • Shares private information about others without consent
  • Promotes self-harm or eating disorders
  • Constitutes misinformation that could cause harm

6. Content Moderation and Strikes System

6.1 Moderation

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or our community guidelines. Content may be reviewed by automated systems and human moderators.

6.2 Strikes System

Violations result in strikes against your account:

  • First Strike: Warning and content removal
  • Second Strike: Temporary suspension (24-72 hours)
  • Third Strike: Extended suspension (7-30 days)
  • Fourth Strike: Permanent account termination

Severe violations (illegal content, credible threats, etc.) may result in immediate permanent ban without prior strikes.

6.3 Appeals

You may appeal moderation decisions by contacting us within 14 days of the action. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the one who made the original decision.

7. User Responsibilities

As a user, you are responsible for:

  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Ensuring your use complies with applicable laws
  • Reporting violations and harmful content
  • Maintaining respectful interactions with other users
  • Protecting your account credentials
  • Not circumventing security measures or restrictions

8. Account Termination

8.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, your profile and personal data will be removed, though some content may remain in anonymized form.

8.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Accumulate strikes through the moderation system
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Create risk or legal exposure for Unsaid
  • Have an account that has been inactive for over 12 months

9. Intellectual Property

  • You retain ownership of content you create
  • By posting, you grant us a license to display and distribute your content on the platform
  • The Unsaid name, logo, and branding are our trademarks
  • You may not use our branding without written permission

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

We are not responsible for user-generated content or the actions of other users. Use the Service at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, UNSAID SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
